So as a carpenter, do you use sustainable materials?

You know what? I often think about this because when I started out back in the 80s, no one talks about sustainability or anything like that.

Yet what I know now about sustainability and how we're all trying to be more sustainable in everything we do in life, whether you actually realise it or not, Carpentry and joinery, for example, has always used the most sustainable materials.

If you just think back to some of the oldest structures in the world, they're timber and quite a lot of them are still around.

And if it wasn't for the fire of London, there'd be a lot more in the UK as well.

So, you know, I'm very fortunate in the sense that I don't need to change too many things about what I do and how I do it to be sustainable or be even more sustainable.

so um if if i rock up on a job and i go i'm going to be using this brand new sustainable plywood the chances are it'll go straight over there and they'll say well is it more expensive than the one you normally use so you You know, I totally get why people are skeptical about sustainability and all the rest of it.
