Now, Rob, there's been a lot of discussion in the last few weeks, in particular regarding smart glasses, and you've got some thoughts and maybe going to introduce some legislation regarding these.

Robert SimmsGUEST
They're really concerned, I think, around the potential impact this has on individual privacy and, you know, the potential for people to be filmed against their knowledge and without their permission in public places, places like swimming pools, changing rooms at gyms, playgrounds, childcare centres and schools, all of these places.

Robert SimmsGUEST
I think, you know, high risk when it comes to people being filmed for obvious reasons.

Robert SimmsGUEST
And that's why I'm introducing a bill to ban smart glasses from those locations.

Robert SimmsGUEST
But critically, the bill does contain exemptions for people with disability and, of course, with vision impairment, because I do recognise that this technology can be life changing for people with disability.

So I guess you're saying there is restrictions as to where they can use it in those sort of settings.

Robert SimmsGUEST
We know that families can spend thousands of dollars on public transport fares, and so this is more money in the hip pocket.

Robert SimmsGUEST
And, of course, it also encourages people to leave the car at home during a fuel crisis and take public transport instead, which is good for them in terms of financially and good for our environment.

Robert SimmsGUEST
I should say, though, Matthew, I do recognise, of course, that in some regional areas, public transport is a bit below par.

Robert SimmsGUEST
And one of the benefits of what we're proposing, of course, is that people in the cities and metro areas that are well-serviced them taking up public transport frees up the fuel supply for people that don't have access, and I think that's important as well.

Matthew PantelisHOST
So, making it free, not that big a deal, but it does come at a bottom line for the budget, doesn't it?
