What was he there to accomplish, and what does the Vatican hope his visit can achieve?

Well, obviously, every time the Vatican steps into a situation like this, it's trying to promote peace between Ukraine and Russia.

Very difficult thing to do, obviously.

But on the program specifically, there were three other things.

One is, of course, the exchange of prisoners of war.

Ukraine is said to have 4,000 prisoners, Russians, and Russia is said to have 7,000 Ukrainians.

And so they talked about that.

Can you briefly explain some of the results that have come from those efforts?
