So over the past couple of weeks, we were trying to get some AI discussion groups organized to try and make some principled decisions as a community, how we were choosing to incorporate the tools, how we were going to handle all these labor incentive issues, how we're going to handle the corporate, the fact that the most powerful tools are hidden behind these corporations.

You know, I mean, there's like a lot of things that we have to talk about and make decisions on as a community that involve making boundaries, which have very little to do with research, right? I mean, it's been the most popular topic of conversation the whole time we've been here.

But then at lunch last week, on Friday, we kind of, I think everybody had kind of hit a point of like, After seeing two weeks of just all of these crazy breakthroughs come out that were strongly AI assisted, we were like, OK, maybe what we should do is we should recruit some of all of our ancient programming skills that are still around and try and like set up a more like try and set up a principled system.

Basically, since now anyone with an idea can maybe generate the proof that substantiates the idea in 10 minutes by themselves by just querying ChatGPT Pro or something like that, this is causing a lot of troubles in the mathematical community because it's making people act in a private way.

Normally, one of the nice things about math is that it's very collaborative.

What do you think is happening with sort of careers in math and computer science at the minute, like particularly to do with artificial intelligence? Like what would your advice to someone a bit early, like a grad student or even someone considering a PhD or a master's, what's your advice?
