So tell us a little bit about how you got there.

I mean, I guess we can start from the beginning.

At high school, I was supposed to be a pitcher at Eastern New Mexico University.

And so my freshman year, my first year there, I was diagnosed with my first of two heart defects.

And so after going to all the cardiologists and everything else, the university decided I was too high of a liability.

And they told me they weren't going to allow me to play.

How quickly did you learn that? And what was that like?
