i just wanted to take a step back first and ask how did you get into this like what's your what's your biography

well i i like to joke that my dad's it's a half joke by the way because it's it's quite true and it he should have been punished for this.

When I was 13 or 14 years old, my dad's shipper receiver quit at the company just before the summer school break began.

He got me to come in and work for him for that summer in a manufacturing environment and violating child labor laws.

Many child labor laws did not pay me very well at all, less than minimum wage.

Then when I complain, it's like, well, your mother And so anyway, I worked for my father, my, two of my uncle's own manufacturing businesses.

I worked for one of them after I graduated university.

How do you actually bring that person along?

Mm-hmm

... and don't try and be an IT superpower within your organization.

You don't need to have servers and have staff who are dedicated to doing that.

You need to look at cloud solutions where you can have a very light IT footprint within your organization, use technology that's really easy for your employees to use, and then work with partners who take care of that technology so you don't have to develop this very high level of expertise.

A lot of Canadians wanna, you know, we wanna buy it, we wanna own it, we wanna be responsible for it, we wanna be vertically integrated and do everything ourselves.

And the Americans gave up on that a while ago, and they, they're eating our lunch in some of these things and, and, you know, we, we really need to know what we're good at and focus on our core competencies and let other people who are better at things take care of those other parts.

And I think doing all of that together, that'll help with digital transformation and, and, and executing it and getting it achieved.
