Brad KozoHOST
When you think about on the dialogue and on the waterfront, which exchange or speech stands out the most to you and what do you think he's really saying beneath the surface of the words?

Robert BurnettGUEST
Well, you mentioned Father Barry's sermon, which was the first thing I thought of when I heard the question.

Robert BurnettGUEST
I love when she asks, isn't everybody part of somebody else? And she also has the great jab at Father Barry about, well, was there ever a saint who hid in a church? She has some kind of zingers.

Brad KozoHOST
After reading the screenplay and watching the film once, Where do you think the performances add more or the most to his writing? Was there a particular scene that became something greater on the screen that it did appear on the page?

And so I know that here in early 84, it's not eisner but it is a company that's either going through a transition or is i'm assuming is is staring the need for transition in the face so can you give me a little bit of like what was the state of things at disney at this time in like 83 and going into 84 like how healthy were they as a film studio and like kind of what was what was the scene there for the corporation

Robert BurnettGUEST
I mean, for one thing, just broadly, a lot of the cultural shifts of the 1960s into the 1970s with different kinds of topics and more racial diversity and all these different things, the kind of counterculture into the mainstream, the Disney company was way behind on that.

Robert BurnettGUEST
It can't be overstated and it really rippled through the next 20 almost years.

And Touchstone Films was formed... to uh basically allow disney to green light edgy or product right that was the whole point is they did they feel trapped by their family friendly brand do they do they just want room to be able to green light different types of projects
