So the sense is you're allowing surgeons to feel things without resorting to open surgery.

Robert BrooksGUEST
exactly you have the ability to amplify human touch so you can for example feel the inside of a blood vessel we're working with a french company they're working to build a neurovascular endovascular catheter robot and their system is far more sensitive than the human hand so they can start to feel things that are just at the edge or beyond human sensitivity perception kind of like you can use a microscope to see things that you can't with the naked eye.

Robert BrooksGUEST
And we're trying to build humanoid robots that come close to what humans can do.

Robert BrooksGUEST
And it's the same companies building all the components for these early humanoid robots that... built the components for surgery.

... like a soft skill and it shouldn't really matter, but it does matter, and then how do we nurture that in our families?

Robert BrooksGUEST
Uh, in probably every book I've written and many of my articles about resilience, in the books, there's a chapter on empathy.

Robert BrooksGUEST
And the reason it's in there is it's such an important skill that we have to really develop in ourselves.

Robert BrooksGUEST
Daniel Goleman, now, God, it's about 30 years ago, he wrote a book, Janick, he's a psychologist, called Emotional Intelligence.

Robert BrooksGUEST
And in that book, he basically said, sometimes more important than IQ is emotional intelligence.
