Angie McBrideHOST
Do you feel at all that this beautiful work has gone to waste and maybe in hindsight you should have put some kind of protection on these murals ever being removed?

Robert BreerGUEST
Well, I don't know if council would have been able to put any protections on the mural, Angie, but as you said, it was part of an initiative undertaken by the council about 10 years ago to enliven Kent Town.

Robert BreerGUEST
And as we all know, Kent Town is going through some pretty significant and I would argue positive transformation with a lot of high rise and other businesses coming into that vibrancy as the nice gateway between the Adelaide CBD And Norwood, so this artwork certainly in its day 10 years ago was sort of stood out amongst other artworks in the suburb to sort of suggest that Kentown was in a bit of a, in a moment of change.

Robert BreerGUEST
And unfortunately, for whatever reason, that the painting, the mural has gone, but I certainly hope it does raise awareness within the local resident and business population of Kent Town and the artists themselves who may have contributed to other pieces in the suburb to perhaps be more mindful of what is going on.

Robert BreerGUEST
I mean, if it was by design, again, it is the right of the property owner to do what they choose.

Robert BreerGUEST
But judging from the comments on both social media and the mainstream media, the community certainly has felt its loss and understood and appreciated not only this artwork but what it contributed to the suburb more generally.
