And I wound up, like, I had finished a new record.

Like, a week or two before this, I was actually on a conversation like this, like on a Zoom call with my team at Atlantic, talking about video directors, video budgets, scheduling, like, when we were going to shoot the video, when we were going to release.

I had a tour planned.

Like, everything was all set up.

And then, like, a week or two later, I get an email from my lawyer saying, who said, oh, because Atlantic Records has gone through many changes in the last 30 years.

I was there when Ahmaud Erdogan was first there, still there.

Tell me what that, tell us, there's two of us, what that call was like.

How does that connect with property rights?

It seems like government's trying to get in the way more than it's trying to help.

And to me, this is a reminder that, no, we form governments for the purpose of helping people realize and protect their life, their liberty, their pursuit of happiness, their property.

They're not supposed to be getting in the way by hitting you with $22,000 traffic impact fees when you're in rural California.

Because building your very modest little house on your property is supposedly going to add to the traffic impacts in the county.

What do these battles tell us about why the declaration still matters 250 years later?

When it says, okay, we're going to put our stamp on this thing.

Anything you had on Mr. Carey?

Well, you know, it is a fairly, in some ways, a one-nil performance.

He's the grizzled veteran showing the young guy the ropes.

There are some moments where I kind of saw the silent movie actor, like, especially at the end, he's doing a lot without really saying anything.

Like, he seems to have sort of a pained look on his face as the other two, Peru and Nina, leave.

And I was like, was there supposed to be, like, a love triangle? I think also with Rincharo dying, you know.

I would have just rather have had it be a. documentary and let us have i i would have been happy to have uh harry carey given a trader horn voiceover for an hour and 45 minutes just taking us through africa and learning all about these animals but unfortunately we had the shoehorn a story in there or at least try so five out of ten for me

But it's been fascinating following that and everything else that's going down there, or quite frankly, what's not going on down there.

It's interesting to, for us here in California, to see how the Coastal Commission, statewide agency with broad jurisdiction within the coastal zone a few hundred yards inland from the coast, but the tentacles reach further, which we've known about for years here, for decades, and have considered sort of one of the biggest offenders when it comes to reasonable exercise of our property rights, how because of the Southern California fires and other events lately, has really resonated and now people outside of California are see- beginning to see, "How can that be?" Or, or they're beginning to ask those type of questions that we've asked and challenged for many, many years.

One of the very first cases that Pacific Legal Foundation won, took on and won, was against the California Coastal Commission in a case in 1987 that went up from Southern California, went up to the US Supreme Court, and the US Supreme Court pretty decisively smacked down a coastal commission's attempt to stretch its jurisdiction and use its power to force homeowners to give up a property for something as simple as the condition, the, the condition of doing something as sim- straightforward and simple as, "Oh, I wanna r- tear down a beach bungalow and put up a house." In a case called Nolan against California Commission, Coast- California Coastal Commission was our very first big win.

And so that agency has been on our radar since at least 1987, and it is very interesting to us that the excesses of that agency are now being recognized outside of the Golden State.

But it's, it's the, it's the personal interests, it seems, from my opinion at least, of the people that are living in the city that are like, "Oh no, we're gonna control this," because they want their hotels to be full, and if they can have a fire pit at their hotels, that's the crazy part.

But for the other 364 days of the year that you live there and don't rent it to somebody else, because you rented that one day to somebody else, then you can't use the fire pit.

And yet the city apparently doesn't have those concerns because in its own, when it rents out space, hey, no problem.

Would you wait?

So when, when, when you used to work in Bootle till, like, 2:00 or 3:00 o'clock, and you go out, you go and wait outside the brass house 'cause all the clubs and that were closed.

And then someone from, like, town or the Wirral...

What used to happen, right, just to let you know in- inside of the trade in here, there used to be three main brass houses.

One on the Wirral, one in Bootle, one in town.

Now, if someone got in me cab in Bootle and wanted to go to a brass house, I'd go town or the Wirral.

You wouldn't, you wouldn't let on there was one in Bootle.

What got you started on this, and why are you so passionate about teaching people how to use non-verbal communication in their intimate relationships?

Well, I think anybody who has been in a long-term relationship, you have ups and downs in that relationship, and some are great, and some are, uh, kind of doldrums.

And really, uh, with my wife, we had had a number of these, and we were in one that seemed to go on longer than normal.

And I was really thinking I'd like to, you know, bust out of this.

I'd like to try and find something else.

I'd like, uh, to elevate our relationship.

And so I, I tried different things.
