Hello, my name is Rob Grayston, and I'm primarily interested in wargaming, serious gaming when it comes to resilience and emergency planning, disaster management, business continuity, stuff like that.

So wargaming is quite a Broadchurch, there's a lot of different stuff out there.

From my own perspective, there's a lot of stuff around training and exercising in the resilience space, so emergency services, local authorities, but obviously you've got the recreational stuff as well.

And quick and easy ways to get in and get the skills, which then can help move you into the professional space, are going along to things called mega games.

Mega games happen across the country, they're often recreationally focused, you have about 30 to 50 people playing a single scenario across a day, and it might be the Spanish Armada, it might be aliens invading the Earth, it can be something based on a popular IP, so inspired by Battlestar Galactica or something like that, and they're a good way of seeing how communication, negotiation, lack of situational awareness can all show how people make the decisions they do and what the consequences are in a confined, boundaried space.

And it uses a lot of the same skills that you end up using in the professional resilience space.
