Right.
5:26
So that's the fun of it.
5:27
That's what the kids miss w- w- when they're running all the tracks, as Ray said.
5:31
That's the fun of it.
5:33
That's, that's what, that's a, a really musical part of being in a band, translating recording songs to the stage.
5:41
That's a huge chunk of the fun, and, and the interesting, and the flexing of your muscles of n- uh, "Oh, I know how to do this now," you know? Or like, "I'm creative and I can figure out how to do this." And that's what all the kids are miss- that's what a lot of kids are missing.

Sure
9:03
... things happen in their lives, you know? However, there is something honest about them wanting that, and something honest about us saying to ourselves, "Well, we still are that person.
13:33
Right on.
13:34
I think that's a great question, Chris, and, and, uh, I feel w- w- it's all of those things, like Ray said, definitely the creative and, and definitely hitting the stage.
13:43
We, we, we don't use any backing tracks.
13:45
We're a 100% live band, so, uh, playing live is important to us.
13:50
But I think it's, for me, if I had to, if someone said, "You gotta pick one specific thing of why," I think it's because this band deserves to be heard, and I felt that since 1990 or maybe '89, um, that we bring something unique and special that is just about Spread Eagle.
14:14
Uh, and it's a crime that more people haven't heard it and, and people have said that to me my whole life, but I've als- I also feel it.
14:23
Um, and so I think it's a mission for me personally to, to get this heard by a larger amount of people and somewhere, somewhere closer to what it should be.
18:39
Rob, I, I'm pretty sure Rob would feel the same way.
17:53
That's how I interpret it.
17:55
No, that's really interesting.
17:57
And I appreciate you saying that.
18:03
So my feelings are...
18:06
Yeah, the new album, we've done hundreds of shows since the last...
18:14
The new album's The Brutal Divine.
18:16
We've done hundreds of shows since the last album, Subway to the Stars.

6 MINS LATER

24:41
Absolutely.
16:49
I feel like we've gotten better at the process.
16:52
Now, I think, I feel Ray brings so much to this band and in large quantities, but I think possibly the thing he brings the most to this band is a sense of style, like a real cool, you know, not fake, just natural, you know, born in Brooklyn street style.
17:12
And that's great to hear on a recording.
17:16
Yeah.
17:18
And you mentioned the other albums.
17:21
The first album really was Our Vision.
17:26
The second album, which I like, it had a lot of people talking in our ear.
19:28
It's very cool to see.
