And I was just so charmed by the fact that it all felt like really of a time and place, which to me is like... half of the old great movies of the 70s that that's what made them great you know yes so and ted didn't like that or he was he just wasn't impressed by it because he was just like i grew up in it so like to

him he was just like yeah that's how it was and i'm like do you know how hard it is to capture to pull that off i know something that feels so real like and clearly also something that was done on a budget where they had to make specific choices and compromises and I hear that.

And I also do hear the sort of, it's a bit bougie, these sort of like 1% problems.

But I think that is, if you're on board with like a legacy story and you're into Anthony Bourdain, I think seeing someone become the thing they become before, you know, is the recipe for a great story, which can often be messed up but i think i agree with you i think todd and lou and the director matt i think they did an absolutely like impeccable job of like presenting a truly unlikable character and yet we still felt for him and that was feeling for him and knowing like okay He doesn't this guy doesn't feel good about himself either.

You know, sort of like making it till he makes it and is also aware of like his smugness and how much privilege he has.
