It's the Bishnoi gang and Goldy Brar who've benefited

The capacity of the gangsters to extort more money has increased, more so Goldy Brar.

Journalist Ritesh Lakhi says the murder of Vicky Middukhera mattered to Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar because of their shared history.

Goldy Brar, Lawrence Bishnoi, Vicky Middukhera, and many of these young, uh, students, they were a bunch of, uh, youngsters who were moving together.

Vicky Middukhera was a slightly bigger, uh, character.

Uh, he was into student politics, senior to Lawrence Bishnoi in those years.

Vicky Middukhera got him into student organization of Punjab University, and that is from where they start.

But Ritesh says it was because of some of the company Sidhu was keeping that rumors that he was somehow involved kept cropping up.

As far as Sidhu Moose Wala is concerned, there have been some kind of associations with certain kind of controversial characters.

I won't say they were gangsters, but in Punjab it's not something that is such a huge shock if you know somebody who has been involved in a violent crime.

For a moment, Ritesh thinks he's misheard.

So I thought that, uh, uh, he was saying or meaning something else, so I said, "Okay." I asked him, "Did you get him killed?" So he said, "Yes, I got him killed." And that was in Punjabi, of course.

And that was the time when I had to actually stand up from the couch that I was sitting on.

He's the man who's just gone online claiming responsibility for Sidhu's murder, Goldy Brar.

I had spoken to Goldy Brar twice before that.

I knew his voice.

I knew to a reasonable extent that it was him calling, but it was not even in my wildest of dreams that they could go to that extent and get Sidhu Moose Wala.

And then, uh, I did ask him what was the weapon used because I was getting the reports from the media, and he said that, "Yes, we have got him killed with an AK-47 and a .45 Borer weapon because these were his favorite weapons.
