that day, whether I knew it or not, hip hop was gonna become a lifestyle for me.

Ricole BarnesGUEST
Now, I didn't hear 36 Chambers until a year, oh, not a year later, but the summer of 94.

Ricole BarnesGUEST
Because at the time, I'm 10 years old, you know what I mean? Like, I ain't, I don't, and you know, with hip hop at that time, you know, it was, I guess, controversial to to the rest of mainstream media with some of the choice lyrics and all those things and you know you got some parents you guys i i didn't really have old school parents my parents had me super young so they they totally understood the things i was into but i was a little afraid to ask for yo can you buy me this album with this parental advisory sticker on at the time so i had an older i had an older friend bernard rollins who's three years older than me, my best friend still to this day.
