But when you first stepped in that Niners locker room, exactly what did you see and how did that feel?

Oh, it was so crazy because once you get drafted, I didn't know the next day you're there.

You know, I figured they might work it.

I didn't know how actually they would work that out.

But we were there the very next day.

And then I'm in there and I'm in there with the new recruits.

I'm thinking that's it's just going to be us.

Was the hill a hill or was it a freaking mountain? Like, what was the hill? It was a mountain.

Yeah.

I mean, he just is.

You see him in the locker room.

You see him around the other players.

You see how they react to him.

They understand, "This is our captain.

This is our guy." You can tell the love that they have for each other.

Mm

What do you think about their preparation?

I think they are in trouble.

They are in trouble.

I don't know what they're thinking.

But...

I'm glad that we're doing it the way we are.

Our people are on top of it.

Can you imagine that it would have been as one-sided as it was?

Never, never.

Because they were such a good defensive team.

They were a good team all the way around, but they were a great defensive team, so I didn't know we were going to carve them up like that on offense.

So it was really cool to be able to do that.

And I remember at one point, thinking, man, this can't be real.

I'm going to wake up and I'm going to see that the games didn't even start yet.

I didn't.

But at the same time, I could see us being that team, the 49ers, because of the way we play.

Man, we play a great brand of football, I think.

And also, we have such a great outreach with the fans.

That's why we have the faithful.

Yeah, yeah.

I, this is one I never heard for sure.

So he goes, "N- that's my sister." And I was like, "God, come on, man." You know? I've heard it all, but I haven't heard that one.

You know? And then he, he goes, uh, "Look at me and look at, look at you, and who does she look more like?" And I was like, wow, 'cause she's lighter skinned, she's fairer skinned.

Uh, she has, uh, what we call the good hair, so different hair than I had.

And, uh, when he said that, I th- I thought about that.

It kinda came back some of the things that I dealt with where people would say to me, you know, if I was out with my mom.
