And, uh, in terms of your leadership, uh, what led you to, to, uh, to join the company, um, as I understand, over 10 years ago and now heading it as CEO?
3:35
Sure.
3:35
I think I always felt there was something that was unique about this protein, and, you know, I think part of the uniqueness is that, um, you know, I, I say we've, we've figured out how to manufacture a synthetic form of this naturally occurring protein.
3:48
But what's unique about this, uh, about this opportunity is that there are two, I call crude forms of this protein that have been widely used in Asia for, for many decades.
3:58
Um, Bayer, the German company, actually started, um, isolating this Klk1 protein, so we're, we've-- we're developing a recombinant synthetic form of the Klk1 protein.
4:06
Uh, but back in the 1940s, Bayer started pulling this protein from pig pancreas in Japan to treat, um, uh, hypertension.
4:15
And even today, there are several hundred thousand patients per year that are using the porcine form of this protein.
6:57
And so, uh, could you tell us a bit more about what the, the, the really pressing needs are, what the gaps in, in care are, and potentially what the gaps in our knowledge of the biology even pr- um, may potentially be as well?
