And, and then a good friend of mine from Colorado here, who, uh, did Humphrey's by the Bay in San Diego, p- promoted concerts out there, uh, called me up, and a good friend of mine and, and, and brought me out to California to do a conc- there was David and his wife [laughs] and his family, so I'm sure he's a stalker.

Anyway, we became dear friends, and I miss him dearly to this day, but it was his idea to do this documentary.

He says, "Your life is so interesting that I think we need to tell the story." So he got together with a friend of his, Denny Klein, and we started working on this clear back in probably 2018, 2019, and of course, COVID-

[laughs]

Great.

Yeah, well, you know, I th- I, I think one of the most significant songs in my history was the transition.

I mean, Buffalo Springfield was so important, but then what do we do next? And Pickin' Up the Pieces became what we did next, and that's what Jimmy and I wanted to do, cross over, you know, the country and the rock and, and become friends, and, "Hey, we're just playing music, guys." And so that's what Pickin' Up the Pieces was all about.
