Your Honor, as Ms. Visser previewed, I'm going to address count six.

I'm going to address count seven, and I'm going to address the two alleged enhancements.

I know the court has read our briefing on this, and so I'm going to highlight the factual and legal principles that we think compel this court to find that the state has not produced sufficient evidence to bind Mr. Robinson over on those two counts.

and that the enhancements also lack sufficient evidence to proceed in this prosecution.

I want to talk first about count six.

And I'm going to be very, if I may, focused on the text of the allegation.

What do the parties think about time and date?

Remind us, what exactly is an mRNA vaccine?

Well, mRNA is a code for a protein that usually they select a protein antigen or a component of the virus that they want the body to make an immune response to.

So instead of giving the protein, They give this code, the RNA code, as an injection, and it enters cells, and then the cells are instructed by this code to synthesize the protein and express it on the surface of the cells, which is how our immune system recognizes a foreign substance or a foreign antigen, we call that.

So it's just turned out to be a very effective way to administer a vaccine, and it tends to generate much more potent immune responses than a straight protein vaccine.

How might that lack of support affect research that's currently in the works or in the future?

Well, this vaccine is a Moderna vaccine.

Moderna actually is funding the research themselves, so they're not relying on federal dollars to do their studies.

They do require the federal government to approve it, of course.
