So my next question is, you know, are there differences in flushing response between a forage based system and then maybe a more intensive system that's going to utilize concentrates?
13:42
Yeah, so I think earlier you asked me a little bit about maybe some specific nutrients, and there is a little bit known about that.
13:50
I can't say if it's forage or grain related, but if you want to speak in terms of energy and protein more, it's clear that improving the energy status of sheep is really important to have an optimal flushing response.
14:06
But then it gets a little more complex.
14:08
There's been some more work that's done that shows that improving the amount of bypass protein or protein that escapes the rumen during, say, the final 10 days before RAMP, that very acute period, can actually improve, which sounds strange, improve the glucose levels of the sheep because it isn't really used in mature use for protein.
14:34
And that alone, that improved glycemia, which you can't really achieve quite as well with some other ways, has been shown by several researchers to have, at least that's their theory, to have a flushing response in itself.
14:49
So there is a reaction to both energy and protein.
15:43
If you were to hear a scenario like that, what are the reasons that maybe the flushing benefit maybe occurred, but why it wasn't realized in terms of more lambs that were born?
