Rich, can you imagine a president with his current political problems about a month out surrounding himself with the richest tech executives in the world?
14:48
I mean, literally, is he going out of his way to make Republicans lose? That, oddly, seems like the only explanation.
14:56
As you say, this is an 80-20, at best, issue where the public is dead set against data centers and AI.
15:03
I'm not defending the public's position.
15:06
I'm just saying that's where they are, just like they're against the Iran war.
15:09
just like they're against all these prices going up.
15:12
And he says, that's a hoax, right? He said the concerns about data centers and AI is a hoax.
19:49
richard he's standing with the richest tech executives on the planet some of the richest people in the history of the planet and he's saying how great everything is i just ask again What impact could this have on the election?
38:19
Rich, is there a possibility in your mind that the president could maneuver, if Scott Besson's right, that there could be some sort of resolution in Iran where the economic pressure is such that the president could declare victory in a way that would be politically beneficial? Is that a possibility in your mind?
38:35
So it didn't seem like the snake was merely wiggling without a head when Trump had to leave a plane in a food cart.
38:41
It didn't seem like it was a wiggling headless snake when when those airmen got shot down after we said we had full control over the air in Iraq.
38:51
OK, so I honestly I'm hard pressed to take seriously anything that Trump or Trump.
38:59
Van says about this, because they've so consistently said things that are just flagrantly untrue, untethered to reality.
39:08
So here's, I will go on record, never have you again if I'm wrong about this.
39:13
Trump will declare victory and pray that he's such a good salesman that people will buy it.
41:19
Rich, if you were Senator Fetterman, his chief of staff, would you be concerned about this?
33:31
Where are we in the midterms? Is this structurally such a strong year for Republicans based on redistricting and where the Senate races are that they may keep their majorities? Or do those polls lead you to believe the structure doesn't matter?
33:45
So I think Republicans got four to six House seats they otherwise wouldn't have had but for this redistricting.
33:54
But Democrats, this is not just speculation about polls.
33:59
Every election that's taken place, almost without fail, federal, state, and local, Since January of 2025, the Democrat has outperformed by 10, 15, 20 percentage points.
34:10
That's undeniable.
34:11
I know there are probably people watching this who don't want to hear it, but that's not really deniable.
34:16
So the question is, what might change that arc? Are the new tariffs going to change it for the better? Surely not.
