I'm interested to know how much you understand yourself as a result of making these works 'cause it's been, what? Six years that you've been doing this stuff, and are you able to reflect on your understanding of your own queerness?

Renan EstivanGUEST
Uh, I mean, more than being queer, being artist is, like, a status that put me in the situation that I have to think about myself, think about, uh, how I'm presented to the world.

Renan EstivanGUEST
And it was challenge to become an artist, you know? To get out of the office and go to h- go home to my atelier or just my desk to create art pieces that I think will sell or, or I think people will like.

Renan EstivanGUEST
Uh, like, the building of my personality is based, uh, how much effort I put in my production.

Um, maybe it was more me watching her and noticing how it works, worked for her.

Renan EstivanGUEST
Like, she really appreciate what she was doing, and she re- really took the time, you know, uh, spend hours, uh, during the weekend making these tapestries, and it was nice to see how, uh, this, this craft was important to her and how it h- helped her.

Renan EstivanGUEST
If you go back to the album photos that my grandmother hold, uh, there is tapestries that, uh, photos of tapestries that my mother did back then, and we still hold these tapestries as a memory.

Renan EstivanGUEST
So I learned this importance, like the, the importance of hold your passion and make what you like to do.

Renan EstivanGUEST
Like, she was an artist, and this is the way that she passed th- this craft to me.
