0:48
But
0:48
yeah, let's start with yourself.
0:51
Yeah, thank you for that introduction.
0:54
I've been doing sport since I was two years old.
0:59
I remember watching my dad.
1:00
He was a professional boxer.
1:02
I remember being at the side of the ring watching him.

14 MINS LATER

15:25
how have you found like transitioning to being a coach like you know not training essentially as much obviously you still train quite a lot but um that being second priority and lucy being first priority and your other athletes as well um how have you found that
7:40
husband before trainer or trainer then husband?
7:43
I guess I would say I was trainer before husband because we started doing triathlon properly in 2014 and we weren't married until 2018.
7:52
I've always known her in a sports setting.
7:55
Today, we have an external coach called Dan Larang, who oversees the total program.
8:01
And there is a reason for that.
8:03
He's exceptionally good, but also I can then just focus on the session rather than the plan.
8:11
And he'll set the grand scheme of what the plan is, and I will help Lucy deliver that.

42 MINS LATER

50:15
Do you have any training tips for us mere mortals to become better at swimming, cycling, running?
18:53
you still think there's like real areas of improvement?
18:56
Huge.
18:57
Like every single year Lucy's got better.
19:00
When you look at the raw data of her performance, every single year she's got better.
19:06
And that just wouldn't be possible if you were already second in the world, stepping into something 10 years ago, if the sport was fully developed, because making that jump from second to first in a sport like running, for example, that's been going for a hundred years now, there's not really much you can do to bridge that gap.
19:27
Whereas in a sport that's young and in its infancy, and really triathlon is sort of in its infancy.
19:33
Every single year there's like times tumbling.
20:32
yeah so back to kind of like the the week if we just lay out i know every single week's different but like a monday to sunday what kind of training are we doing
