What would be the first thing that they should do and what's the best way to recover from it?
40:42
So while this one, I'm biased, one of the things that I do is I have a REDS-informed provider certification program.
40:48
So that's dieticians, therapists, et cetera.
40:51
And so I'd find somebody that understands REDS and work with them because – depends on how deep they're in a deficit is how the body's going to respond what all they have going on their life is it doable are they in the middle of a huge training block and so um we know the expenditure is going to be really high and then i'll lay it out i'll be like all right and i hope it's okay to talk calories because i know you brought it up i'm used to like a lot of podcasts where we try to censor that but let's say there are a thousand calories below where they need to be There's no way I'm going to be able to get them to immediately jump up to the calories that they need to.
41:33
So we'll talk about like, let's start with 250 calories for a week and then let's get your digestive tract used to that.
41:40
Let's see how you feel.
41:41
And then we slowly build up until they feel like a lot of those symptoms have resolved.

Now, when someone is recovering, the people that you work with, how long does the recovery usually take? I know it's going to be different for everybody, but what's the range like?
9:17
When you figure out, I think that this is just a bad environment, how does that change what you're doing with that patient in the short term? We can maybe talk about long-term too, but like in the short term, right off the bat, if you're like, hey, this is an issue, how do you help them work through that?
9:37
Yeah.
9:38
I mean, I've even, first of all, usually I'll reach out to you guys for some guidance and wisdom on like how to word that if we're approaching and you guys are not on the team.
9:46
And maybe equipping them with how to protect themselves mentally and physically.
9:53
If it's comments being said, if they feel like they're not ready, who can we bring in from the nutrition standpoint? I'll be like, all right, here's the reality.
10:02
You have no off day on your nutrition, meaning that you can't, even if you get sick, you got to stay on top of it because you're, Your body's too volatile right now.
10:10
If you're feeling pressure, like you have to hurry up and get back for season.

29:12
Would you, would you say 90 grams of complex carbs is kind of the upper limit that you would recommend for most people? Or, or,
5:59
Mm-hmm.
6:00
A lot of times people forget, uh, I was listening to actually a business podcast.
6:05
It's funny how these little nuggets we hear and then we translate it into how we teach. And they were talking about how they could not get this woman's, um, statement to reconcile for her taxes.
6:18
And so he's like, "Okay, walk me through a typical day.
6:20
What do you do?" And so she's going through and she's like, "I drop my kids off, and then I run to Starbucks and I get my drink," and this and that.
6:26
And he's like, "Wait a minute.
6:28
In your daily, monthly, you know, yearly charges, that doesn't come up here.
