When you look back, were there people who helped you understand how opportunity works?

Yeah, I've had an incredibly fortunate set of educational experiences and the most important traits that set me up to obtain and be successful in those experiences.

I really learned from my parents.

My parents really taught me to have an entrepreneurial spirit and that if you want something to be true in this world, you have to make it happen.

And the first time that I learned that lesson, I was a young kid and I had just joined a competitive jump roping team.

And I had been born in North Carolina.

I was on this incredible team.

What did that experience teach you about how people actually build careers?
