So can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got started as an author?

When I was going through my classic Gothic era, I would like always write little stories, but I never really thought to say like, oh, I'm going to be a writer or I'm going to be an author.

That was never... anything that I actually thought would happen for me until like I got older and I just, I still, I loved reading.

I loved writing.

I loved that connection between words where you were just, you know, you stay up past midnight to read and then be so inspired to like write your own stories.

It all goes back to probably being super shy when I was a kid.

And that's what I did is I read.

So can you give us a spoiler-free overview of The Sweetest Fiend?

Like, did you know The Plated Prisoner was going to need six books when you set out? Or like this, like, you know it's going to be a duology, like, how, how? [laughs]

Yeah.

No, that's a good question.

Okay, so when I released Guild, I really truly thought no one would read it, and that I wouldn't be able to sustain that series.

So I was like, "Oh, I'll just make it a trilogy," right? And I could have, but then I did have readers, and I was like, "Oh, sweet, I can actually tell the whole story that I wanna tell." So then I was able to do that.

I wanted to try to make it five.

I could not fit the whole ending in book five, so I split it.

The kind of mechanics of writing it challenge aside, was it hard for you to leave the Plated Prisoner crew behind, or was it time and you were kind of ready, or like how was it to just start writing in a new world like that? As, a- and including, I mean you already mentioned the challenge of just how to write a different amount of books, but-
