So is it?

Well, again, so these judgments are consequences.

That's how I look at it.

I don't believe or understand the way, based on my monodies, when I've written about this, in terms of external punishments, it's internal results and processes that I think is going on.

The whole thing I think is psychological.

And remember, you know, the word psyche from psychology.

Psyche is Greek for soul.

But my question is, doesn't God listen to me all year round? What does it mean that the gates are closing?

But it does sort of seem to gloss over the fact that for much of his tenure as a chief rabbinate, he was severely criticized from both ends, let's say, of the denominational spectrum within the U.K. Would you agree?

Well, I'd say yes, but that was only one element.

I mean, his output was incredible.

So when you're speaking every week or two weeks at a different synagogue to hundreds of people and teaching Torah and teaching ideas, that's also just as important.

So, you know, the arguments always make it to the front and people like that.

But never underestimate how much Torah and how many ideas he was just sharing with people.

and therefore bringing traditional Jewish learning to the fore and Jewish ideas to the fore.

So I suppose it's a nest of questions of SACS on Jews and other religions, but also there being a sort of a limit or at least a framework within which different religious and ethnic groups ought to cooperate within a society.

How can we put those two ideas together?

Think about a circle with a dot in the middle.

We're all looking at the dot from different angles, but there's only one dot.

Or you, you have a family.

I've met your lovely kids and your husband and you've got cousins and many people know you, but they would all describe you differently.

The only objective part of you is your physical body, which is independent of that.

But God isn't physical.

So how can we relate to those kinds of thoughts that crop up on Rosh Hashanah? Can we say sorry when we know we're going to do it again? Can we talk to God when we're not even sure if he exists?
