I grew up in a musical family in Kipsy, New York, right outside the city.

And was surrounded by my father playing harpsichord, a large vinyl record collection, classical jazz, Latin folk music.

My mom very much in the folk tradition brought that into my consciousness early on.

I kind of grew up in Pete Seeger land.

The folk music was really revived in the 60s.

And so my mom came out of that tradition and my father out of sort of jazz and classical.
