Well, I learned in the situation room when you have ambiguous signal like this, it's dangerous to assign risk when you don't know what the pathogen is.

So I would say it's uncertain.

And I agree with Dr. Redfield that Transparency is critical.

At this point, days out, you have a researcher who died in an institute that certainly knows how to do genomic sequencing, and we don't yet have a sequence of whatever pathogen she died from.

That should be available within days, and that can tell us and settle whether this is a natural pathogen, a lab strain, or something altered.

And that's the reason President Trump should push President Putin for that level of transparency.
