What we like to say on our team is we really like to talk about what's called high-stakes communication and conversation, and what we found is that high-stakes communications really determines access to jobs, leadership, and career mobility.

But feedback on how people communicate can be very informal, subjective, and inaccessible, and we found that capable individuals really lacked scalable, safe ways to improve their clarity, confidence, and presence.

So currently I'm a PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania studying biomedicine, and when he first approached me about the idea, I was doing my interviews, and I found that the biggest piece of advice I was receiving from mentors and peers in the field was to practice, like, interview questions and practice questions in the mirror the night before a big conversation.

But I thought that Mikail's idea was especially unique because it allowed people to have a mirror for their own voice, and it gave them a platform to really practice in a setting that was comfortable and mirrored what they wanted to get out of the conversation.
