Kate McEvoyHOST
Rachel, could we segue to you to talk about some experiences that you bring to the program?

Rachel CallowayGUEST
My kind of origin story to, I guess, Medicaid leadership now, it started actually in the last semester of my nursing school quite a while ago when I had a public health rotation.

Rachel CallowayGUEST
And so at this time each week I would go to a high school in Austin, Texas and met with students who were pregnant or had recently had a baby previously.

Rachel CallowayGUEST
for prenatal classes or perinatal classes, talking about how to care for themselves or their newborn safety.

Rachel CallowayGUEST
And towards the end of that public health rotation, we had an opportunity to give a legislative testimony to the Senate.

Rachel, I'm curious, what's your experience? Where do you see your experience showing up in the way that you do your work?
