19:05
I mean, when was the first time you grew something?
19:08
The first time I really grew something was...
19:11
Well, there's two plants.
19:12
I can't remember which one came first, but I'll tell you about the ginger.
19:15
I had a lot of houseplants inside.
19:17
We were living on a boat at the time in London.
19:19
I had lots and lots of houseplants, mostly inherited from my mum.

28 MINS LATER

I mean, what are the dynamics on which people come together to grow food? Do they sell it to other people? Do they have to pay to be part of it? What do those systems look like?
21:50
Um, is there anything that you would say the land has taught you that books would never be able to teach you?
22:00
Um, I think it's taught me how to process my emotions better.
22:04
Um, I think it's taught me how to connect with other people better.
22:08
Um, one of the things that I kind of, I guess, took from permaculture, one of the most important bits I think, is the community element.
22:16
And, you know, before, when I was gardening in my own garden, that was all well and good, but the process of, like, being part of, um, the community garden that I am part of now, and the one that I was running previously, it's been, like, really transformative.
22:29
I think that I'm able to connect better with people now, and that's through being able to be out in a kind of space that keeps your mind gently busy, and you're able to talk to people and, and sort of connect with them in a, in a very different way.
22:42
It's quite, like, a special thing, I think, to garden alongside people that you have a mission with.
24:21
[laughs]
