So what kind of things do you focus on through Management Mastery at Aldridge?
13:20
So we essentially sat down and we thought, what's the pinch points when it comes to the outcomes we're seeing? So things like if the manager had had this conversation, this grievance would never have happened or this staff member didn't have a proper return to work meeting.
13:41
And so they are going off sick repeatedly and they don't feel supported.
13:46
So we started at the end thinking about what are the effects that we're seeing in our workforce? And then we started to strip it back and really think, OK, well, what are the tools? What are the things that we want our people to be doing in order for our employees to feel way more supported, way more cared about and actually want to be in work, want to thrive, want to do their best job and be able to do their best job and really create those conditions? And so we had a list of skills and strategies and things that we thought were really important.
14:19
So we then sequenced them across the course.
14:23
And what I really try and do, we know the mechanisms of good professional development.
14:28
So it's not that this course is, right, I'm going to talk to you about a policy.

So I think when leaders get to practice something and to see something change in their practice, this is really motivating stuff for their wider practice too.
