Where do you think we've gone in terms of the respect for the rights of people like
11:11
those Afghans on that boat? I mean I definitely think that there's been a narrative of scapegoating by political parties the world over that seeks to drum up hate and mistrust against very particular communities in order to, I think, distract the larger population.
11:33
from issues that really matter and their lack of good governance with regards to especially a lot of the economic and social rights afforded to their populations.
11:45
The thing is, though, I think that, and I think a little bit about my daughter who goes to school here in Geneva.
11:52
She goes to a public school here.
11:53
And some years ago, the public schools in children, refugees, into the schools.
12:02
And her best friend is a Ukrainian asylum seeker whose father is still in the Ukraine, you know, and they're very close.

You want to come in on that, Pooja? I mean, do you feel the current climate is demotivational?

We've spoken offline before, so I know a little bit, but for those people who are new to you listening to the podcast or watching it, please explain where you started and where you've ended up to today.
1:37
So I started my career in radiotherapy in 2011, so a long time ago now.
1:44
Um, I had a very extensive career around, all around the London departments and around Buckinghamshire.
1:51
Um, I love radiotherapy.
1:53
I feel that I always will love radiotherapy.
1:56
It's a part of me that, you know, I will never be able to...
2:00
It won't leave me.

1:00
So I started in radiotherapy a long, long time ago now, around 15 years.
1:06
And I spent my time, you know, treating patients with cancer.
1:11
Throughout my career, I rotated around various departments in the UK and And I met some wonderful people, some wonderful patients, some people that I will never forget, wonderful colleagues and staff, all of which sort of peppered throughout my career have been just so inspiring to me.
1:35
I think radiotherapy in itself attracts a certain type of person to it.
1:42
Someone who is very detail orientated, someone who cares deeply for others and people who just want to do the best job they can at caring for other people.
1:54
And radiotherapy, I loved it.
