Mm.
8:16
Um, so I started doing that a little bit more, like intentionally.
8:19
Like, I've got so many little scraps and nubs of pastels that I was just getting them and sort of just, like, dragging them across the board and creating color, and then washing them all out with solvent, and then layering on that, and then I'd even start sort of, yeah, mixing like solvent and, you know, running the brush over different parts of the built-up image.
8:39
Um, and I just really like that because I think for me a lot of what I'm working on a lot of the time, it's sometimes imagery that's sort of right there in front of me, but sometimes it's sort of working from memories, or it might be a photo I th- I took and now I'm removed from it, so it's like, how did that make me feel? It's like not everything's really clear, not every detail, so I like the way that when I'm sort of doing thinner layers and washing and taking back and putting over that it's not as in focus.

It's not super sharp or clear, and for me that really relates to me trying to grasp at that feeling and that imagery.

Mm.

Um, but so I think, like, I've always had to do by just playing.

Like, I was so funny when I think I was out that first day, and I literally had no idea what to do.
