How do those two things walk hand in hand, maybe for the Israelites, and maybe what kind of lesson could we take from that connection?
34:02
Right.
34:03
Well, I think part of it also, I think part of it is contingent on the role of civic and spiritual nature in this era versus something that we might face today.
34:14
I think, not to get it confused, when we're talking about the people of Israel at this time period, they're very much an intermarrying of those two ideals.
34:23
Because you are, in today's society, under a new covenant, it's very much you know sort of a more personal relationship that we are that we are dealing with we're dealing with our personal sin it is our sin that we are going to the cross to to have redeemed and Jesus has died on the cross for each of us individually at this point though there is a certain amount of collectivism that that is important you know Daniel from all the things I can read about Daniel he sounds you know I don't think that he became religious and and zealous for the Lord after the fall of Nebuchadnezzar, my, my personal assessment is that he was probably a, a devout person at the forefront, um, before all of this stuff happened.
35:05
And so like, while he is an individual is, is dedicated to the Lord, there is still a sense of collective punishment that is happening to his people because they, as a nation, as a, as a people have not followed the precepts of God and they've had countless generations to, to remedy this.
35:22
And so there is, there's sort of a, an, uh, There's sort of an indistinguishable melding of the two that I think both of these guys represent sort of one facet of the same coin, if that sort of makes sense.

Talk to me a little bit about this crisis and kind of how you covered that in the course of the class.
20:01
And so I wanted to sort of give you the floor to talk about your understanding of the concept, maybe just give you the floor to talk about your experience a little bit and where you feel like you've come through your own deconstruction process.
20:14
Okay, yeah.
20:15
I mean, I tend to agree.
20:17
I think it's a little pointed of a definition, but I would expect that from a book dealing with this topic, and it's a pretty heavy topic.
20:27
I like the way that he sort of frames it in sort of this ambiguous term, because it does mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people, right? And so what I might call deconstruction is not what some of my friends and peers have gone through and what they call the deconstruction of their faith.
20:45
And we've come to different endpoints with that journey.
20:49
And I think part of it depends on the motive behind it.

And so I think it makes our job as believers, followers of Jesus, as we challenge our beliefs, as we think about the things that are hard, to conform ourselves back to Jesus' image in every way that matters.
