Could you start off by telling us a bit about your career and your early influences?

Yeah, absolutely.

Well, when did orthopedics start for me? I studied in Bristol.

The undergraduate part of the degree didn't really inspire me all that much, I've got to say.

And then I intercalated zoology and I did find that quite fun and I had a bit of extra time then as well.

So I spent a bit of time in the Africa that summer and then came back a little bit invigorated.

And I spoke to Alistair Holster-Moore at the start of the fourth year to find out where he thought I should see some soft tissue surgery and some orthopedics.
