We'll go into your priorities and a bit more into your views later in the interview but talking about on a constituency level what do you think the people of Ramsey want out of their next representatives and what does the future of Ramsey look like to you?

The key things that I've picked up on in terms of Ramsey are the cottage hospital.

I think people desperately want to see a long-term plan for its future.

My own personal view is it's an ideal situation to have a specialism located in the town.

A few years ago, we had a specialist unit there which dealt with eye operations for cataract removal, and that was very successful.

I think something like that in the hospital would give it a purpose.

Mm-hmm.

What's your solution there? From your planning perspective, what do you think's been going wrong?

Peter, what are your thoughts?

I think what, uh, a lot has been said already, but I think I've met a couple of people on my travels where, um, well, a particular couple, they're reasonable earners, but they're in a rent trap.

They're in private sector rented accommodation.

They've been there for over 10 years.

They have no prospect of moving on.

They can't see a future as house owners because they're paying so much rent.
