One oft-told story is that Brent Mydland sometimes played Pigpen's B3.
22:05
The individual players didn't really own a lot of the equipment.
22:08
It was the corporation.
22:10
So Brent got to play it, got to play Pigpen's organ, but he didn't own it.
22:15
Brent had his own stash of organs.
22:19
He had one personally in his home over in Concord somewhere, Benicia, I forget where he was.
22:24
But, um, I actually visited him at his home and fixed his organ in his home one time, or a couple times.
22:53
Dealing with Leslie cabinets was an ongoing concern in the Dead sonic world in the 1980s.
52:06
give you a key.
52:06
It wants to be that.
52:08
Whether we let it be or not is up to us.
52:11
But it is, in many ways, trying to take a lot of the pieces of this.
52:15
And actually, it's picking up a couple threads from some of the non-Pauline epistles as well.
52:21
I want to just mention two of them real quick that I think are important for what we're going to see in Revelation.
52:27
One of them is...

So are we trying to do something the wrong thing in creating something in a conversation like this?

Before I take a commercial break, Peter Miller is here with me as well, and Peter, you're bedecked in the, uh, amber, um, uh, gilet that we all need to wear when we're out and about.
21:09
Yes, Alan.
21:10
Last Sunday, actually, we were on, um, Hes and I were on a motorbike run up in Wicklow.
21:16
Uh, it was the 50th anniversary of the Vintage Motorbike Club of Ireland, which I helped to start 50 years ago.
21:22
Just shows you the age I am now.
21:24
But we're out on the road, and a taxi man pulls straight out in front of us from a, from a side road.
22:06
Yeah.
22:06
That's 111 years old and still running, and we have a nice little 1955 Fiat Topolino car.
5:45
So what's the difference between what you do and what a vacationer could do?
5:51
Well, I think it's kind of like when you say athlete, it's more like the muscle memory that it's kind of like, you know, the old, the saying old man strength, you know, like the kid's dad is like, you know, he'll take you take on the whole neighborhood with old man strength.
6:04
It's kind of like that.
6:05
Like when I bring a football player out and NFL guy, they can outrun me, out-tackle me, out-jump me, do all those things and not be winded.
6:13
I would snap in half if I jumped over somebody and landed wrong on my foot.
6:17
So I can fight a fish for hours and hours.
6:20
I can catch 20 sailfish in a day.

12:49
Is that a wonderful place to do a first foray into fishing? Or are there better places in the world?
0:17
Tell us about the Kaituna Golf Club.
0:20
Well, as you were saying, it's out at the Kaitareti Spit, which is out near Burndlings Flat.
0:26
So it's a nine-hole Lynx-style golf course.
0:32
And so just people who don't know how to get there, it's about 25 minutes from Hawesville.
0:38
You drive out on the Christchurch-Equiro Highway.
0:42
go up through Taitat, Notcher Carrara, and go past Kaituna Valley Road, and there's a little road called Jones's Road, just about four or five k's past Kaituna Valley, and it's just down there.
0:53
So, yeah, nice little nine-hole links course.
2:19
Tell us about those.
26:02
I'm just saying you saw the need, you're hoping to fulfill it and now it's become a big part of what you
26:08
Well, in reality is, you know, we have shed lots in Florida, shed lot up in Georgia.
26:15
I drive a lot.
26:17
And if I'm not talking to one of my shed lots about a sale or pickup or a pre-owned building or selling, you know, bring in new shed, I'm talking about shed sale some.
26:31
It seems like those two things are, I guess, engulfing my life and And then when I get home, I try to tune that all out.
26:42
I have Do Not Disturb on my phone.
26:44
And then I'm able to spend time with my boys because they're getting older, spend time with my wife.
31:15
know,
30:56
But what's kind of important in the next week in change to make sure everybody's at their best when you get out there?
31:01
Yeah.
31:01
So, um, years ago, I would say I didn't have a system, you know? But I've, I've been exposed to high level hammer long enough now that I, I do feel like I have a s- a championship season system [clears throat] that involves a couple specific lifting exercises and then a couple specific throwing workouts that we try to time up based on the, the men will throw on Wednesday next week, the women will throw on Thursday, and so, um, the men do a, a specific throwing practice today, and then a, a very specific lift today that Coach Whitlock, our strength coach, and I have developed over the last...
31:34
He's been with us, I think, five years.
31:36
Um, and if you look at the number of lifetime bests that we've had at the NCAA championships or US Olympic trials or Greek championships or whatever over the last kind of five years is, is incredible, and I give Coach Whitlock a lot of credit in that.
31:50
He's, he's done a really good job of trying to figure out what we're doing at the track, and then trying to match up what we're doing.
31:55
And so, um, I appreciate him a ton.
