It seemed to take a while, like nobody was rushing, nobody was panicking, and, um, it's a bit disconcerting really and, uh, but obviously they were doing their stuff and she had a brain X-ray and different types of things.

But, um, eventually, uh, the young doctor on duty said that, um, she happened to mention in passing that they were looking at giving her an operation.

And she went away and, and rung, um, Neil Anderson, who was the neurologist on duty, and she came back and said that, uh, they're not gonna give her an operation.

And so my son Andrew was with us, and it wasn't too hard to work out that if they were thinking of giving her an operation and now they weren't going to, um, uh, she was a bit of a cop case.

So we asked what would happen if she didn't have the operation, and they said well, they'll wheel her out into a ward and leave her there.
