pete i want to start talking about kind of the the misconceptions of of a minority sale and specifically get into a discussion about one of your clients who we worked with now you know close to a decade ago um who who was was really adamant that's the way he wanted to go why don't you tell us a little bit of the story here
2:25
yeah i appreciate it craig thanks for having me on again yeah it was a business owner that i've known for years.
2:32
A business owner that I looked up to was my mentor and my former employer.
2:38
In his early 40s, he left the organization we were both at and started his own company from scratch and built it up very quickly and got to close to $50 million in revenue within about five years.
2:59
Extreme growth, great vision, been there, done that.
3:03
And when he approached me, it was, hey, Peter, I think I just want to bring on a minority investor.
3:11
And what we mean by that is a private equity firm that's going to come in and own less than 50%.

And from the standpoint of the cap table and some of these big decisions, you're seeking your partner's approval regardless of the volume of shares that they own.
2:53
Take me back through the work you were doing and how it would help to pave the way for what you're doing now at Caber Hill.
3:02
Yeah, happy to, and love to take a step back from that, actually.
3:05
Uh, growing up in a, uh, a family construction company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where I'm from, Double N Contractors.
3:13
Uh, my, my family started that company.
3:15
My parents didn't go to college, right? So they started that firm, uh, that company, and I have three older brothers, and we all had to work there through middle school, high school, and college.
3:24
So that's where I got my blue collar, I got my hands dirty, and, um, you know, I, I was in the field.
3:31
I wasn't, uh, in an office and, and really getting an understanding of what, what it takes to do work.

Not a, not a present day framework that you, uh, continue to use and reference.
