What are your thoughts there? What's going through your mind when you hear the latest things about film?

Yeah, well, it's certainly a question that we've all been puzzling about.

And certainly the model of the so-called international independent model that I grew up on with Dino De Laurentiis and Salkind and Carol Cohen Cannon, that really is now sort of disappeared in the way it was in those days.

And the streamers have had an enormous impact on it.

Now, what's interesting is it feels a lot like the business when I first came into it in the mid-70s when you had the first wide releases and the old roadshow stuff of the 60s was turning into now a different kind of film.

But in those days, you know, the studios, they didn't release that many movies.

And, of course, they didn't cost much.

And as we always do with, uh, our guests, especially our authors that come on, is we always allow them to, uh, tell the audience what the book is about in their own words.

Sure.

Um, I wrote this book because I was unfairly convicted of stealing tax credits from the state of Louisiana, which I didn't steal, that I was legally entitled to.

Uh, it was a farce, the whole thing.

And, uh, but nevertheless, I had to spend eight months in a federal prison for something I didn't do, for a loss that didn't occur.

And, uh, this was obviously a very, uh, uh, rack... nerve-wracking experience.

And, uh, n- some of the people that are close to me, um, felt I should write about my career in Hollywood, uh, with this point of being a reflection on what had happened both in the case and, you know, in the 50 years I've been in the business.

Well, Peter, maybe for some of our audience that is unfamiliar with you, uh, tell a little bit about your background and how you came to, uh, get in the entertainment business.
