Can you tell us a little bit about your writing journey? So how did your early experiences shape you for what you are writing today? Where do you draw your inspirations from?
4:38
I would say I fell in love with poetry back in the 80s when I first heard, like, Whitesnake.
4:45
They were my favorite 80s band.
4:46
And then when you actually, that was a time when you had CDs, the lyrics would be inside the CD.
4:53
And then I started reading it to myself.
4:55
I realized, wait a minute, this is a poem.
4:57
This is a beautifully written poem.

Tell us about how your musical journey started, where things are at now, but tell us about how your musical journey started.
1:13
books that are available on amazon across all your books where do your ideas most commonly begin is it a character's voice philosophical question on image or something else entirely
1:30
Well, I work from a basis of the unrepresented feminine in like the epics, because when I had my daughter in 2010, I started looking around for books that I could get for her because I enjoyed the classics like Beowulf, you know, the Odyssey.
1:48
And of course, every parent wants to enroll their children in the stuff they enroll that leads exposure to it.
1:53
But then I realized.
1:55
Why would a young girl want to read this? Where's the feminine represented? I mean, there are a lot of people that will argue with me like, yeah, I mean, there was Helena Troi in the Odyssey, but she just had a little bit prior.
2:05
You know, we need to know more about her.
2:08
There was the sirens, you know, but there again, they were feminine, but they also deal demons in a way.

9:04
So how do you locate? How did you or how do you locate? or cultivate a distinct voice for a new project? Is it intuitive process or deliberately construction?
BlessedHOST
8:09
Why do you think that style of storytelling is needed much today?
8:14
Well, there's a little thing called craftsmanship that I think is lost today.
8:19
If you look at some of the earlier poets, and let's take Shakespeare, for instance.
8:24
Who writes like that anymore? But how many times do you have to have it explained to you? If you look at some of the epics, they're beautifully written.
8:32
Not just what they're saying, the story, but how it's written.
8:37
You look at the craftsmanship, the word placement, which word was used.
8:42
That sort of thing needs to be brought back.

23:02
So I was asking, what kind of impacts do you want to leave behind for people who appreciate your work, appreciate your music, and of course, your daughter?
3:32
you think you were first choice? To be honest with you, no.
3:37
But I'll tell you how it worked.
3:39
Yeah.
3:41
I knew the director.
3:42
Okay.
3:42
Peter Chelson.

31 MINS LATER

35:12
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
3:38
Yeah.
3:38
And also, he was in charge of giving out discretionary grants.
3:42
So it was his decision whether I got this grant or not.
3:45
So I went in and into his office.
3:48
It was lined with shelves and pamphlets.
3:50
And he said, oh, you want to go to drama school, do you? I said, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
3:53
Oh, right.

15 MINS LATER

19:21
work then.
