When did you realise that you were carrying forward what had happened with your dad in your childhood and how did it manifest itself in your day-to-day life?

I think that realisation and manifestation has been a gradual and ongoing thing.

And when I look back at who I was at high school, I don't think I really knew who I was, that I did stuff because my mates did.

And the sort of stuff I did generally wasn't approved by my father, but that wasn't a deal.

But I noticed the impact, I guess, then when I got engaged and married and we did some pre-marriage counselling and we went to some marriage enrichment stuff and I realized that it was showing up in the way that I would react to things with my wife and the default position to try and get control or maybe become angry.
