... which I had to sell quite quickly.
44:08
Um, but you know, that's all I wanted to do, so you know, I just never went to, to uni, so I f- I dropped...
44:13
I failed, didn't wanna move back home, but I'd been flipping burgers part-time at Mackey D's for years, and so I went into the management track with them, uh, originally hourly paid and then salaried.
44:24
Um, rose to the dizzy heights of first assistant, which is second in command of a store, but my store manager was seconded away, so I ran a store in Cardiff.
44:31
Co-ran with another first assistant.
44:32
It was a big s- big store.
48:22
Don't look it, mate
22:18
How do you manage that process? Are you pre-qualifying them on the website? How do they find you and how do you make sure that they fit your ideal client type?
22:26
Yeah, that's a brilliant question, Matt.
22:29
Part of it, I think it starts with the content itself.
22:32
So if your content is basically holding nothing back, so literally I've gone deep into some pretty technical subjects, and hopefully in a way that enables people to not only grasp them, but can say, how can I apply this for my individual situation? If you go deep, you're probably going to cut out The real sort of simple stuff where people are just like, well, I can easily do that.
22:55
I don't need to see an advisor to open a pension or an ISA, tax-free investment vehicle.
23:02
We don't get those.
23:03
We don't get people saying, I've got 20 grand worth of credit card debt.

9 MINS LATER

32:33
And then maybe just as As an extension, before we move on to the last topic, just any thoughts, advice for people or advisors in Australia thinking about maybe starting up their own podcast or video channel?
Dr. TomHOST
4:50
Why are these different things and why does it matter?
4:53
Yeah, they're entirely different things.
4:55
I mean, I would define a portfolio by the sort of collection and organization of the investments, you know, maybe the accounts that they're in, pensions and ISAs and stuff like that.
5:05
That's the kind of portfolio.
5:08
But without a plan...
5:10
It's like getting in a car and just sort of setting off, but without any idea about where you're trying to get to.
5:17
And so you kind of have the requisite bits that you need.

9 MINS LATER

14:34
Yes.
AtoHOST
13:33
So I wanted to talk about money goals by age, but I didn't want to do it as a strict benchmark because I know it can be different for different people, but it's more like to help people from a guiding perspective, right? So when you think about people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, what do you think they should broadly be focused on financially at each stages of their life?
13:53
Yeah, I mean, that'll be sort of informed later.
13:57
More I guess by life stage than strict age, but you know if we're gonna talk in generalizations generally speaking your 20s You've got relatively few Commitments, you probably don't have kids you might all right But you know of all the times in your life when you're gonna be so young free and single it's gonna be in your 20s and so I think If that's the case, you absolutely want to enjoy life, right? Enjoy the freedom because it gets harder.
14:24
There's no doubt about that.
14:26
You want to build good habits.
14:30
You want to learn to save, pay yourself first, right? So saving to pensions and all that sort of stuff.
14:36
You want to learn to avoid bad debt, right? You want to just build good habits that will then be the foundation for everything you build going forward.
