You know, when you take these dogs, do you sit back and let the dog choose the person? Or does the person choose, you know, when they're sitting there and you're trying to assess, do you feel how the dog or the puppy reacts to the person, how the person reacts to the puppy? Is that something that?
19:36
So I'm a bit different.
19:37
I never let the people choose a dog.
19:39
Okay.
19:41
Based on the fact that I've been raising them and I can be in conditioning and whatever, I know what the person's needs are.
19:48
So before they get a dog from me, they're not advertised at six weeks or eight weeks.
19:53
They know months, sometimes years before what their needs are.

12 MINS LATER

we're seeing this all on your Facebook as well.

Talk to us a little bit about the importance of those eight weeks.
1:56
Well, that's very correct.
1:57
There is a window of opportunity up to about 16 weeks, but I have to make very clear that the conditioning of a puppy from birth to about the first 18 months to two years is what creates the dog you're gonna have for the next 10 years.
2:13
But the first eight weeks is with the breeder, and we can make or break a puppy's wellbeing, its focus, and its, um, confidence in life with poor handling.
2:25
So what I've done, um, programs have been around quite a while.
2:31
There are the need for an understanding of finding the right parents, that they have got good health, hips, elbows, DNA.
2:41
And I'm talking purebred dogs.
5:33
Talk to us a little bit about the Te Pua puppy program.
