Yeah, that's a very interesting question, and I reflect back on what made me change directions.

When I got out of a PhD program, the-- my major was in strategy, the so-called strategic management field.

And I was at NYU at that time, and sort of following the reality of being at a Research 1 university, publish and perish kind of a model that reigned at NYU.

I don't think they had tenured anybody from assistant to associate for a very long time.

This was in the 1980s, and I grew up in a, a small town in India called Bhopal, and a, a big industrial accident took place there.
