yeah good idea good good examples i think that gives some ideas um around things like diversification and looking at out of the box other ways of continuing their business um other things in the market that you're seeing at the water at the moment that worry you from providers behaviors or mindsets or actions that you're seeing that that you want to talk about
11:19
uh call out yeah um talk about yeah absolutely um look you know uh if if you're listening to this and you go and have a look at your social media posts and comments over the last six weeks and go that's all really quite negative uh that's a problem and leaders don't lead from being negative and i keep harping on this idea of leadership but people follow leaders when people follow leaders they want to be around and they want to support them um so one of the things i really want to call out is just this idea of complaining consistently it's like oh it's not like the good old days right when you could just do anything well the good old days gave us probably the reason it's all being clanned up so much right we people would do all sorts of crummy stuff And so now the commission's kind of maybe even overcorrected in some areas to pull it in way too tight.
12:18
But you know, a few terrible providers who utilize the fact that it was so open and so gray.
12:28
Everyone has to now pay for that and work under this model.
12:31
So complaining about what used to be or being upset that it can't be this way anymore is not going to help you at all.
12:39
In fact, it's going to keep you lagging behind the crowd.
12:43
We talk about the idea of the bell curve of early adopters and laggards right the people at the front of that bell curve they're the early adopters they're the innovators they're the people leading the way creating the opportunities there's the the people in the next phase who kind of go through this phase of okay that person's doing that i could do that too and we could build in this space then you've got the people who sort of lag on the back end of that bell curve who look at it and go no i guess i have to now because things have changed so much and then there's the full laggards who just sort of they change because they have to or they leave completely you know i don't want to i don't want to do this anymore but i have to right for instance i don't i don't see why i should have to be registered to provide supported independent living but i guess i'll have to go get registered well if that's the mentality then you're probably not going to enjoy this next 12 months at all and i'd look for other opportunities

and i think the reflection of it often coaching involves you having to be reflective about your behavior and your actions and what got you here and i think as adults we don't reflect a lot we don't you know i'm a teacher by background and as a teacher we're constantly getting people to reflect and we use reflection as a learning but even me even though i i love learning and i i know that we should be reflecting i don't have time to write a journal i don't have time to write down how i'm feeling at the end of each day i'm sure it would be very beneficial if i did but having having uh i see my coach fortnightly i send her a reflection of my fortnight it really helps me to bring those thoughts together articulate them clearly and to think about you know what's the one thing I want to get from this session what's the one thing I want to change in my life right now and be actually clear around where am I going you know talking about the businesses having having a job I often find that as a leader I get stuck in my own head of actually where am I going And what's the purpose of this? And having to talk to my business coach regularly around where am I going? What am I doing? It means I don't get stuck as easily on the shiny objects sometimes as well.
