Is this the comic book villain thing? You are
96:15
exactly right.
96:17
This is from the DC Comics.
96:19
He's a famous villain from the Batman universe, but every great villain is from Batman, right? He has so many fantastic villains.
96:29
But this is an R-rated movie, kind of a psychological thriller, and it's about sort of his origin story where he becomes Clayface.
96:37
He starts off as this brilliant, handsome actor who, who lands in a disfiguring accident.
96:44
And all of a sudden, as he goes through these procedures to try to fix himself, his whole body turns to clay.
JTHOST
98:23
okay and how about Clara and the Sun what's going on with this one So this is
JTHOST
10:12
Is this the comic book villain thing? You are exactly
10:17
right.
10:17
This is Clayface.

based
JTHOST
17:12
Is this a remake?
17:13
This is a remake of a remake of a remake of a Jane Austen book.
17:19
Way back in the day, Jane Austen wrote, uh, in 1811, actually, wrote Sense and Sensibility, and it's about these, uh, sisters who are on the verge of poverty, even though they're sort of in the, in the realm of, of Victorian fashion and that type of thing.
17:34
The- this, they...
17:35
It is a period drama, lots of costume, lots of, of really genteel discussion.
17:44
Jane Austen, the original book, of course, is just delightful because Jane Austen is a fantastic writer, and this one will follow suit.
17:54
Uh, this is getting just a little bit of awards buzz.
JTHOST
19:17
Now I'm not familiar with the video game, so tell me about it.
JTHOST
55:54
Paul, tell me you love this one.
55:56
I do love this one.
55:58
Yes.
55:58
Yes.
55:59
I am a Marvel Cinematic Universe person.
56:02
I thought that when Endgame first came out in 2019, it was honestly and still is one of my favorite movies.
56:10
It is just so good, and it is such a delightful, satisfying tapper to so much of the MCU universe.
JTHOST
57:59
Is that the television show?
JTHOST
15:40
Paul, tell me you love this one.
15:42
I do love this one! Yes! Yes.
15:46
I am a Marvel Cinematic Universe person.
15:49
I thought that when Endgame first came out in 2019, it was, honestly, and still is, one of my favorite movies.
15:56
It is just so good, and it is such a delightful, satisfying tapper to so much of the MCU universe.
16:07
The movies that have come after Endgame... have been a little bit hit and miss for me, but Endgame was great.
16:14
Now it's coming to theater.
JTHOST
17:45
Is that the television show?
JTHOST
13:12
Yes.
13:13
Yes.
13:13
[laughs] I am a Marvel Cinematic Universe person.
13:17
I thought that the, when Endgame first came out in 2019, it was honestly, and still is, one of my favorite movies.
13:24
It is just so good, and it is such a delightful, uh, satisfying capper to so much of, of the MCU universe.
13:34
The, the, the, the movies that have come after Endgame, uh, have been a little bit hit and miss for me, but Endgame was great.
13:42
Now it's coming to theater.
JTHOST
14:13
What is going on here?
JTHOST
8:06
Tell me about it.
8:07
It's terrifying.
8:08
Terrifying, JT.
8:10
What? No, it's not terrifying at all.
8:14
But it is.
8:15
sort of Halloween themed.
8:17
So it has a nice little light Halloween feel.
JTHOST
9:27
So what's going on with this one? Yeah,
JTHOST
77:31
Tell me about it.
77:32
It's terrifying.
77:33
Terrifying, JT.
77:34
What? No, it's not terrifying at all.
77:38
But it is.
77:40
sort of Halloween-themed.
77:42
So it has a nice little light Halloween feel.
JTHOST
78:52
So what's going on with this one?
JTHOST
76:02
Alan Richden.
76:03
Yeah, he is good.
76:04
You know, the thing is, it's kind of interesting because in Reacher, he plays the character so flat, as he should, right? But when we've seen him in other things, he can act a little bit better.
76:16
This particular movie, he plays a big, really tough guy, of course.
76:25
He's sort of moonlighting.
76:26
He's trying to do something nice for a change.
76:28
And what he's doing is he's doing a little bit of courier work.
JTHOST
77:50
So what's going on? When is Passion of the Christ back in theaters and when's the new one coming?
JTHOST
1:47
So is this back to the old days of the coyote and Well,
1:53
yes, kind of.
1:55
Yeah, so essentially what we have is Coyote has been chasing the Roadrunner ever since, you know, 1949 is when he started this chase.
2:03
He's never caught him yet.
2:05
He's kind of bummed about it.
2:06
And he realizes as the movie goes on that one of the problems might be his over-reliance on Acme products.
2:14
You know, all the explosives that he uses, all the dehydrated boulders he's tried on the Roadrunner, all of these crazy, crazy gadgets, all of them sort of backfire.
JTHOST
3:25
What's this all about?
JTHOST
45:49
What's this all about?
45:50
Yeah, so this is a strange little movie.
45:53
It stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, and they are parents of these two teens.
45:59
They're having some trouble maritally, they're having some trouble with their kids, but all that sort of gets lost when their entire neighborhood gets zapped up and taken to a prehistoric world where they have to deal with a lot of dinosaurs and giant snakes.
46:14
So clearly, this is not based on a true story.
46:18
But it does have a lot of really cool dinosaurs, lots of action, lots of violence, some pretty nice family messages, actually.
46:28
It does have some issues that if you're wanting to take the kids to this, it definitely is very violent, and it has some other issues that I think families would want to wade through.
JTHOST
47:55
So what's what's it all about? And also, who are the stars in this one?
JTHOST
41:42
Is there anything that might come close to moving Spidey to the back seat? No, there's absolutely
41:49
nothing.
41:49
You know, Spider-Man did make, like— It literally made $360 million in North America alone and made nearly a billion dollars worldwide.
41:59
And there's no way that anything else is going to challenge it for this weekend at least.
42:04
A couple of pretenders that might be trying to edge up into the top five.
42:10
We've got a couple of movies that some people might be going to.
42:14
Super Troopers 3.
JTHOST
44:07
What's happening?
JTHOST
0:11
What is this all about? Supergirl is going to
0:14
be the big superhero movie, maybe of the summer, actually.
0:19
Supergirl is obviously a relative of Superman.
0:23
And she's a 23-year-old and a little bit lost.
0:27
She doesn't really follow Superman's example.
0:31
She gets drunk a lot, at least at first.
0:34
But when someone poisons her dog, and when she receives a plea for help from a little girl, she flies into action quite literally and saves the day.
JTHOST
2:47
This looks pretty good, huh?
JTHOST
1:25
Tell me this is good.
1:26
Well, it depends on your definition of good.
1:31
It has some huge stars attached to it.
1:34
Javier Bardem plays the Robert De Niro character.
1:37
Amy Adams plays his foil, the good, quote unquote, good lawyer.
1:44
And her family, they are being threatened by Javier Bardem and his evil ways.
1:51
It is really well written, some strong performances.
JTHOST
4:07
All right, what's it all about?
