When I talk about my friends or my family, am I showing her how much I appreciate them and care for them and am I explaining, when I show up for a friend who's in need, why I'm doing that and trying to pass on what I feel like is the best of me and then explaining and helping her learn from the things that I'm still also trying to learn.

I would say my father is probably the most influential person for me.
1:56
Too emotional, but he recently passed away.

But the thing for me was just his positive energy and the way he was always trying to focus on what's ahead, like getting better in all aspects.
2:15
And it helped me tremendously in sports where you're never... getting super down on yourself, like if it didn't go to the plan, like, hey, what worked well, let's figure out how we can get better and just keep moving forward.
2:30
that and it helps them it's a great life skill too just have that big positive energy just trying to get better don't get into this death spiral of doom and negative energy but just always be positive thinking about how i can move forward and always be getting better and that's kind of my philosophy for life but also sports and one that i try to instill in my kids as well

How about yourself?
5:08
The only people that I... do get bothered by are folks that are, and I think this is more a function of like not being well traveled.

Yes, yeah.

So, like I said, I was raised Catholic, and was pretty devout, and then, I just, I'm a really, like, analytical, like, science-y guy, math guy, and I just started questioning everything as I got older.
19:31
And then I became not, like, a super vocal atheist, but I read Hitchens and God Blue and all the other books and became an atheist.
19:42
And then I kind of dialed it back a little bit, so now I'm agnostic.
19:47
Because my life to, you know, I'll be 47 next month, I think that I've in particular my job, to dealing with uncertainty.
19:56
I've never been able to confidently say 100% there's nothing out there or some higher power.
20:02
And I think that, so I'm more in the agnostic camp.

Tell me about the place where you grew up and how you feel about it
